The Crieff Cludgie

A wee Scottish word that makes everyone grin

So, what on earth is a Cludgie?

If you are from 'foreign pairts' you might be squinting at the word, so here is the explanation.

It is rooted in 20th-century working-class Scottish life. A cheery slang term for an old-fashioned toilet, usually pictured as a rickety wooden privy standing all alone out amongst the trees.

We loved the word. We loved the instant smile it brought to almost every Scot who heard it. So the long-closed Crieff Public Toilets are reopening as a community venture under the proud banner of The Crieff Cludgie.

Unique in name and nature

It may be the only public convenience in the UK, possibly the world, with its very own website.
